The Botanic to Bridge is on.

Head to the website and register for the 19th August event to be part of one of the region’s favourite community gatherings.

In the two years since the B2B began, $90,000 has been donated to the Gladstone community.

Schools have repaired playground equipment, added to their collection of basketballs, netballs and footballs and have enriched the sport and recreational opportunities of their students.

Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club was able to purchase new equipment such as Inflatable Rescue Boats that are vital to the club’s operations, as well as attract new members.

Rosella Park School began construction of their sensory garden, which will provide students with interactive objects designed to stimulate the senses.

This has all been thanks to the event’s support.

“The Botanic to Bridge is an opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles.  To encourage community and family involvement.  To provide sports and recreational equipment for schools and to support community organisations through financial assistance,” GPC’s CEO, Leo Zussino said.

“It is a diverse and unique event and since its inaugural year in 2010, we have become incredibly proud of it here at GPC.”

Schools will benefit again from the Botanic to Bridge this year, along with two important community organisations, the Mission to Seafarers and Special Olympics Gladstone Region.

“The Botanic to Bridge is an event that requires a significant amount of investment and support, and we are very fortunate to have formed solid partnerships with wonderful businesses,” Mr Zussino said.

“It is these partnerships and the support from event participants which make it possible to give something back. Every cent from every registration goes back to the local community.”
