Gladstone Regional Council is walking the talk, supporting and participating in the Botanic to Bridge FunD Run on August 17 as part of its Year of Walking initiative.
Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers said Council was proud to again be a part of Botanic to Bridge which promotes the importance of healthy and active lifestyles and aligns well with its 2014 initiatives.
“Gladstone Regional Council has made a commitment to its Healthy Active Gladstone Region campaign by endorsing 2014 as the Year of Walking,” Councillor Sellers said.
“The 2014 program is designed to promote information regarding walking opportunities throughout the community.
"The Botanic to Bridge is a great opportunity for people to come together, go for a walk and support the Gladstone Region community.”
Botanic to Bridge participants can walk or run the 3km and 8km courses, which start at the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens and Reg Tanna Memorial Park respectively, and finish at Gladstone Ports Corporation’s Marina parklands.
All funds from Botanic to Bridge registrations will be directed back to either the community beneficiary or to local schools.
