Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) CEO Leo Zussino said it was a fantastic result for the school.

“Rosella Park School are fundraising to build a sensory garden for their students.

“The sensory garden will enhance the learning opportunities for the students and in doing so enhance the quality of their lives.”

Mr Zussino added that the success of this year’s GPC Botanic to Bridge means the event has been embraced by the Gladstone region calendar.

“We had 4,500 people registered in both events, the eight kilometre and three kilometre walk or run through the heart of Gladstone and on to the marina.

“This was an outstanding result for the region and one that has never been matched throughout the state.

“It indicates the huge community spirit the people of Gladstone have for their region and their willingness to support the future of their children.”

Rosella Park School received the proceeds from the public registrations and proceeds from the school registrations will be returned to individual schools according to student participation.

Mr Zussino said the date for the 2012 Botanic to Bridge will be released shortly.
