Gladstone’s favourite FunD Run is on again in 2016 with the re-instatement of the event’s much loved eight kilometre and three kilometre race courses.

Earlier this year, event organiser Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) was considering changing the courses for the event’s seventh year, and in January GPC sought feedback from the community via a survey to inform the decision.

GPC Corporate and Community Relations Manager, Kylie Lee said the Corporation thanks the community for taking the time to provide their feedback on Botanic to Bridge and for their continued support of the fundraising event.

“The feedback that we received strongly indicated that the community love the traditional race courses, so we have re-instated those routes for this year’s event.

“We will continue to monitor the event and seek feedback from the community for future planning purposes.

“Whilst the routes will remain the same this year, there will be some other small changes that we look forward to sharing with you in the coming months,” Ms Lee said.

Botanic to Bridge will continue to raise much needed funds for local schools in the Gladstone region and a major community beneficiary, as well as continuing to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get outside and get active.

Since 2010, the annual fundraising event has raised over $243,000 for local schools and community organisations in the Gladstone region.

This year’s Botanic to Bridge will take place on Sunday, 21 August.
