Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC), together with its event partners, is pleased to launch the 2014 Botanic to Bridge FunD Run, with this year’s event set for Sunday, 17th August.
Registrations for the popular community event are now open and early birds can take advantage of discounted registration fees by registering online between now and Monday, 30th June.
From today, local community organisations can also register to be the major beneficiary for Botanic to Bridge and secure substantial funding for key projects.
GPC Chief Executive Officer, Craig Doyle said the event is not only a great way to spend an active day out with the family, it is also an opportunity to show your support for local schools and a worthy community beneficiary.
“Over the past four years, Botanic to Bridge has donated over $80,000 to community groups in the Gladstone region to assist with education, health and wellbeing programs and initiatives.
“The event provides significant financial support to important community organisations and I encourage these groups to take advantage of this unique opportunity and submit a beneficiary application for this year’s event,” Mr Doyle said.
In 2013, Exodus Tutorial Centre received a $20,000 donation, which was directed to purchasing specific materials for their educational program and providing life-long skills for the teachers and students of Exodus.
In addition to the beneficiary donation, all school student registrations will be donated back to their respective schools. GPC provides financial incentives for the number of student registrations per school – the more student registrations, the more funds for that school.
A total of $104,465 has been donated to local schools across the Gladstone region since the event was established in 2010.
These funds provide schools with essential health and sporting equipment and educational materials to encourage students and their families to embrace healthy lifestyles.
Beneficiary applications close at 5:00pm and early bird participant registrations close at 8:00pm on Monday, 30th June 2014.
